3. Project summary
(1) Instruction of construction
This project is located in the eastern Malaysia, of which building is a hotel. There are eleven floors and 200 guest rooms in it.
Life hot-water supply
There are 200 washrooms; and the solar water heating system belonging to the central calorifier system; and the water tank that is used as heat storage as well as supply tank with timing hot-water supply; and the solar heat collector and water tank installed on the roof terrace of stairway enclosure to save place; and a boiler use as the auxiliary heat source at present.
4. Design of the solar thermal collection system
(1) Position of the solar heat collector
The azimuth of the solar heat collector is the same as the building, namely the true north; its obliquity on the surface of the roof terrace is 15°.
(2) Set the area of the solar heat collector
a. Set the assurance factor of solar energy ƒ: The eastern Malaysia belongs to the first class area of solar energy. With the whole-year running of system, by the design standard, the assurance factor of solar energy is set as: ƒ=85%.
b. Set the rate of heat loss of pipeline and the hot-water storage tank . Due to such parts as the system heat-retaining pipeline and the hot-water storage tank etc are indoor, thus the environment temperature is quite high. By the design standard, is set with minimum value as 0.05.
c. The gained heat quantity of the solar energy unit that is tested (The volume of the hot-water storage tank is 20000L, matching the volume of water tank according to 85L for one square meter of the heating collection area)
